About me<\/span><\/h1>\n

My name is Lisa Mariquita and I trained in Crystal Healing and as a Reiki Master in 2004.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whilst treating clients I became aware of the potential emotional shift or release and felt additional skills would benefit both me and my clients during this process.<\/span><\/p>\n

I took a basic counselling course in 2010 and became so interested in psychotherapeutic work, I continued my training to gain a full qualification in May 2015:<\/span><\/p>\n

Level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills
\n<\/span>Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
\n<\/span>Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
\n<\/span>Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4) CPCAB<\/span><\/strong>
\nLevel 6 Diploma in Clinical Supervision CPCAB<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I am an accredited member of the\u00a0BACP<\/a> (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.<\/span><\/p>\n

I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate (formerly CRB)<\/span><\/p>\n

I worked as\u00a0a volunteer counsellor with MIND mental health service BLMK (Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes) \u00a0May 2014 until August 2017 when I left to focus on my private practice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working as a remote Counsellor with Bupa since June 2022<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

How I work<\/span><\/h1>\n

I am trained as an integrative counsellor,\u00a0which means I am trained in several different theories and therapeutic approaches and will combine those techniques depending on the needs of my client. Integrating different theories allows me to draw on elements of each, to best help and support individual clients and their current needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I work with loss, change, anxiety, depression, confidence, relationship difficulties and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

My counselling approach includes the theories and concepts of; CBT (Cognitive\u00a0Behavioural Therapy, working with thoughts, feelings and behaviours), Gestalt (resolution of past issues and experience in the present moment), Person-Centred (self worth and values) and Transactional Analysis (communication and relationships).<\/span><\/p>\n

I have regular supervision to support my work with clients, my personal and professional development and to ensure I am working \u00a0ethically. Client confidentiality is honoured throughout\u00a0my work with individuals as well as\u00a0during my supervision.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am based in Bedfordshire and work from an air conditioned therapy studio\u00a0in Tebworth, near Leighton Buzzard.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
